decades and ugly perfect

Yessiree Bobbo! Stardoll has ever so politely graced us with two new shops, ya'll! However, along with the arrival of new shops also marks the arrival of the eternal question that haunts every stardoll member across the world.. Is the shop a total hit, or a complete miss? That's for me to know, and for you to soon find out; when I say soon, I mean it! Right here and now, I am going to voice my personal opinion on the two new boutiques. Let's kick off with our first topic, shall we?

Decades, a shop that re-creates the treasured looks invented back in the day, was truly an interesting sight to see. My opinion on the shop itself? I think that it did miss the desired target, but definitely by a slight amount. By this, I am meaning to say that I received mixed signals from the shop: some of the clothes were gorgeous, while others should have been virtually ripped to shreds and used to manufacture rubber-based products. There were some repeats that I happened to have spotted, but not nearly as many as the ones spotted in Bisou! Let's get on with the pictures, eh?
The Good

I really liked the three items pictured above; classy, affordable, and oh so chic! I really like the accessories, though. For some reason, I am magnetically drawn to the 'Inspired by Pucci' purse; I don't know if it's the awesome shape, or the bright and vibrant colors, but something about it makes me go cuckoo!
The Bad

I think the creation of these clothes were carried out with good intentions, but the virtual versions didn't turn out quite how they were expected to! The first dress, even though it is inspired by Coco Chanel, is pretty ugly; if the belt was a raised to cinch the waist, there is a possibility that it could be cute, but for now it just looks frumpy. The pants, although made with good intentions, make your me-doll's hips appear to be enormous! Bad shadowing effect, I guess. The third and final article of clothing can be expressed in one word: frumpy! Yeah, along with the Coco Chanel dress, this sailor shirt is a total frump-fest.
The Just Plain Ugly

These items are just plain gross! I can't exactly put my finger on the exact fact that makes the first dress ugly, but it is probably a tie between the gross cut at the bottom or the cheap rose pattern escalating from top to bottom. The second dress looks like the patterned wallpaper that appears in almost every house in the rural area of New Jersey; I would like to report that this grotesque pattern should STAY ON THE WALLS.. FOREVER! And to finish off the streak of virtual ugliness, we arrive at the green n' gold heels. Shiny, flashy, green, and gold.. yeah, that just doesn't match up! The colors are bleh, and so is the circle pendant that unfortunately appears in the center of the shoe itself.

Bisou, a line of sophisticated clothing as well as accessories, amounted to be nothing more than page after page of virtual repeats. Many of the supposedly new skirts, hats, and khaki pants that are soaking up space in the shop right now are the same pixels that were bundled together months ago. I don't get it, Callie; do you truly believe that after putting the clothes in exile for a only few months time, that you can suddenly bring them back in different colors and not one person will notice? Good grief. This shop totally missed the target that it was so desperately aiming for; however, some items in particular where really cute!
The Good

I really dig the pale green floral-pattern top; it's totally cute and somewhat affordable.. what more could you ask for? The main reason that I put the two identical berets into the 'Good' category was mainly because they look like exact replicas of the DKNY beret from the 'Rose Collection'! I mean, why pay 60 stardollars for a label when you could buy the same exact thing for a lot cheaper?
The Bad

The reason for putting these two items into the 'Bad' category is simple: stardoll took the shape of something that had the potential to be beautiful, and totally screwed it up with their sucky skills in graphic design. I think the over-sized sweater could've been totally adorable; but with its current pattern, it looks like something that my 89-year-old grandma wears when she goes to her Pilate's class every Tuesday! And for the pants, you can obviously tell that stardoll was clueless while making those things! I seriously can't tell if the pants themselves are supposed to imitate a zebra pattern, or a ripped-jeans rocker look. It doesn't really matter which one it is, because stardoll miserably failed nonetheless!

The Just Plain Ugly

Ugh, the title of this category basically says it all. THESE CLOTHES ARE DROP-DEAD-HIDEOUS! And you know the sad thing about this situation? It really wasn't that hard to find gross-looking clothes in the Bisou shop; as a matter of fact, I found 12 fashionably-disgusting items within the first 10 seconds of my visit! Let's start with the jean pants. Two words: C'mon, stardoll! First and foremost, if you're going to re-use the same ol' pants and try to spice them up with a belt, then the least you can do is make the belt-line continue around the entire pant itself! Don't even get me started with that dress.. it looks like a reject costume for one of the 'High School Musical' movies! And trust me, after seeing the wardrobe in those low-budget films you can confidently say that the costume has to be pretty darn hideous in order for that particular movie to reject it! The 'Eye' sweater just screams: STALKER! Goodness, I wouldn't dare to be seen in that sweater by the public eye.. even if my life depended on it!
That about wraps it up, my lovelies! I hope you enjoyed my opinionated and witty fashion reviews as much as I enjoyed writing them!
What's your opinion on the two shops? Which one do you like better, Decades or Bisou?

Halloween Outfit’s!

Today I desided to make you some halloween outfits :D

Of course this hole halloween thing is not a thing we have here in Denmark (we have something like it in the start of next year), but who cares?!? I’m gonna do it anyway :P

-hallow-hallow-halloween outfit’s-

  1. This is actaully my Halloween outfit. Of course mine don’t look like this completely because on mine there’s some stuff that you can’t get in the shops. But aaanyways! I was inspired by my cat Bella, who is black, beautiful but yet Fierce!
  2. In this outfit I wanted to make an outfit with these new red dresses. I think it turned out great. But just one other thing, when I saw one of these dresses I also saw it in green. I mean we can by one almost the same (I have) and the other one is a HB! Why would we buy one that looks just like it?!?
  3. I love, love, love, love, LOVE this dress! I love the flovyness it gets and that you can wear it as it is or you can layer it! The only thing I don’t like about this dress is that it’s too short. If I would layer it then it’s right size, but I would probaly not normally use my time on layering this dress (only if I was making an outfit for a party). So if you ask me then it should be longer, so you couldn’t see my feet.

Enjoy!

Oh, and wicth one do you like the best?

x

PS.

I’m wondering if we should have a Halloween party on Sunday,so what do you guys think?!?… Should I?!?

SFF: How Did You Get Into Designing And Making Virtual Clothes?

Mario: I always wanted to become a fashion designer. When I was young, I was drawing my designs on paper, but when I bought my computer I started making clothes on it. First, I was using paint, but when I saw stardoll, I started making them in photoshop. I have been practising for 2 years… and… this is what I do now.

SFF: What Inspires You The Most When Making Your Clothes?

Mario: I get inspired by everything. People, countries, cultures, even food. I am also inspired by the fashion icons and their glamourous style, like Audreu Hepburn, Jackie Kenedy, Coco Chanel… and of course Victoria Beckham and Dita von Teese.

SFF: What Do You Enjoy About Stardoll?

Mario: Well, first I love stardoll because I can meet very nice, fashionable and fabulous people. I love fashion and stardoll can give me that the best.

SFF: Any Tips For Aspiring Virtual Fashion Designers?

Mario: Uhm… I’m really not a professional stardoll designer and I have a big journey to go. But I will tell them not to lose faith. I know this job is too stressfull and needs patience, but you should never give up. I knew that to succeed in what you do, you need to work and try harder and harder. And that’s exactly what I did.
